Urban Paws Academy Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Urban Paws Academy. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services, including Puppy Socialisation Classes, Obedience Training (Basic to Advanced), Behavioural Consultations, Gung-Ho Dog Sports Preparation, One-to-One Home Sessions, and our Online Training Resources. By accessing or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in any class, consultation, session, or accessing our online resources, you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.

2. Service Provision

Urban Paws Academy provides professional dog training and behavioural services. While we strive for the best possible outcomes, we cannot guarantee specific results as animal behaviour is complex and dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, consistent owner participation and the dog’s individual characteristics. Our services are instructional only.

• Classes & Sessions: All classes and one-to-one sessions are conducted by qualified Urban Paws Academy trainers.
• Online Resources: Access to online resources is provided for supplementary learning and is subject to fair use.

3. Client Responsibilities

As a client of Urban Paws Academy, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information regarding your dog's health, vaccination status, and behavioural history prior to commencing any service.
• Ensure your dog is up-to-date with all necessary vaccinations and preventative treatments (e.g., flea and worming) before attending any in-person sessions or classes.
• Disclose any known aggression or reactivity issues your dog may have towards humans or other animals. Failure to disclose may result in exclusion from group classes or termination of services for safety reasons, without refund.
• Adhere to all instructions given by our trainers regarding the safe handling of your dog and interaction with other dogs and participants.
• Be solely responsible for your dog's actions and behaviour at all times, during classes, sessions, and on Urban Paws Academy premises or designated training locations.
• Clean up after your dog promptly and responsibly.
• Arrive on time for scheduled classes and appointments. Lateness may result in reduced training time or forfeiture of the session without refund.

4. Health and Safety

For the safety and well-being of all participants, human and canine:

• Dogs exhibiting signs of illness (e.g., coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea) must not attend classes or sessions. Please contact us to reschedule if your dog is unwell.
• Bitches in heat should generally not attend group classes. Please notify us if your bitch is in season to discuss suitable alternative arrangements, such as one-to-one sessions or online resources.
• Children are welcome to attend classes but must be supervised by an adult at all times and adhere to trainer instructions for safety.

5. Bookings, Payments, and Cancellations

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place in a class or session.

• Cancellations by Client (Classes): Class fees are generally non-refundable. If you cancel your booking for a group class less than 14 days before the start date, no refund or transfer will be issued. If you cancel more than 14 days prior, a partial refund or transfer credit may be offered at our discretion, subject to an administrative fee.
• Cancellations by Client (One-to-One Sessions & Consultations): A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling of one-to-one sessions or behavioural consultations. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, or no-shows, will result in forfeiture of the session fee.
• Cancellations by Urban Paws Academy: In the unlikely event that Urban Paws Academy needs to cancel a class or session (e.g., due to trainer illness, adverse weather conditions, or insufficient enrolment), we will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible and offer an alternative date or a full refund.

6. Intellectual Property

All names, logos, content, materials, and methods provided by Urban Paws Academy (including, but not limited to, class handouts, online course content, and verbal instructions) are the intellectual property of Urban Paws Academy. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from this content without our express written permission. Our online resources are for your personal, non-commercial use only.

7. Limitation of Liability

Urban Paws Academy takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of participants and their dogs. However, you acknowledge that participation in dog training activities involves inherent risks. Urban Paws Academy shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to persons, dogs, or property arising out of or in connection with the services provided, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law (e.g., for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Urban Paws Academy, its trainers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, lawsuits, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your or your dog's actions or inactions while participating in our services.

8. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Any personal information you provide will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is accessible on our online platform. We collect and process your data to provide our services, manage bookings, and communicate with you.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
